my favorite thing

about a month ago, I got a text message from Ross telling me to choose a date sometime between late november and mid december, but he didn't tell me why, except that we would be going out on a date that night. Being kinda smart, I quickly remembered that the sound of music was coming to civic theatre around that time and I really really hoped thats where we were going on our date night...and I was right!!!

If you know me well at all, you know my love borderline obsession for the sound of music. when I was little, I wore out our taped-off-tv vhs copy of the sound of music. my dad took all the time to even make sure none of the commercials were recorded. however, i never realized that the made-for-tv copy was not the full length movie. until I was 18 & watched the dvd. and oh my goodness I almost had a meltdown when my beloved, memorized, all-time-favorite movie was suddenly different than it had ever been. They were saying and singing things I had never seen. And man did some things suddenly make sense that I thought they had forgotten to explain all these years. haha.

but back to the story. Ross & I went to see the sound of music on black friday last week. we have made it to a show there about once a year since we started dating. so far, its been peter pan, fiddler on the roof, and the sound of music. and they definitely don't disappoint. Civic Theatre nailed it again. Now about the live version that they are trying to do on tv with Carrie Underwood playing Maria? That's just blasphemy in my opinion...
