over the last week, I've been able to celebrate Christmas with two of my favorite family traditions. And both involve tons of delicious cookies, which make them even better. First, last week we had our annual Morren women cookie exchange. I have no idea how long this tradition has been going on, but I remember when I was little it was so much fun when my mom brought home a huge tupperware of delicious looking cookies of every shape and kind. And now that I am able to be a part of the tradition, its even better, because not only do I still get the huge tupperware of cookies, I get to spend an evening with all the amazing women in my family. This year, it was a combination hat, scarf exchange, and cookie exchange. Mandi definitely killed it on the hat competition. My super busy self didnt stand a chance with Ross' hat that I borrowed on the way out the door. Oh well. "Present over perfect" [thanks shauna niequist!] has been my mantra this holiday season.

and last night we went to my parents house to decorate Christmas cookies, which is another favorite thing of mine. I have loved this tradition since I was little and am so glad that all my siblings could still get together to continue this tradition.
(disclaimer- tim made this creepy snowman, not mom.)
and next year val & alan's baby girl will be joining us for this tradition!!!
