...and its monday yet again. Its back to work & school and the busy routine of the week. I always seem to mourn the end of a weekend off from work and it was tough to see this past weekend come to an end. It was a pretty great weekend.
To start it off, Ross & I thought we would check out two of the newer breweries in the Grand Rapids area. I am starting to feel like a new brewery is constantly opening around here and I am not complaining about it one bit. Founders will always be our home, but Ross & I are always game for trying out new beer and its great to be able to try out new local places. So, on Friday we checked out Mitten Brewing Co. first. It was one of the last nights of their "pre-opening". Its in a renovated old fire house and was a pretty cool venue. The beer was enjoyable, nothing super out of this world unique, but I definitely enjoyed it. And cannot wait to go back and try a pizza we eyed the whole time we enjoyed our beers!
Next up was Perrin Brewing. This place was HUGE and crazy busy! We were lucky to snag a table as quick as we did on a friday night. And oh my goodness was the beer I got there amazing. Kona Brown. Seriously, cant say I have had a beer quite like that before. It had the perfect smell of coffee & a great taste too. The great smell of coffee combined with the amazing taste of good beer? perfect combo for sure.
The rest of our weekend was spent mostly relaxing or getting stuff done around the house. Or spending time with family. and....trying to avoid that big bowl of fun size halloween candy we have because we had NO trick or treaters! seriously. I think halloween is dead :( not really, but kids have gotten pretty lazy to not even bother to walk down our cul-de-sac. If even one kid had stopped by, I would have given them pretty much the whole bowl. They definitely missed out.
