saturday at the salvage yard
on a very very cold rainy day last fall, we discovered an amazing place called Pitsch. Its a wrecking company and they keep a huge warehouse of the most random and awesome stuff from the places they've wrecked. There is a lot of crap, but if you are willing to dig through it all and see the potential in things, its worth the treasure hunt. We decided to go again today now that its a little warmer and ended up finding a few pretty cool things. We got an old metal & wood crate that was too unique to pass up, a drawer we plan to paint and hang on a wall as a shelf, a concrete block type thing (which is actually the same as one we already have from there, but at $1.75 we couldnt pass up another one), and some metal thing that Ross saw the potential in (he is really good at that) and plans to make into some sort of shelf on a wall. The last time we were there, we were able to score an awesome locker basket, but they won't budge on selling the rest of them that they have and use to store things. Such a bummer and waste, but oh well, at least we scored one for like $4! So, if you need anything from old windows and doors to a drinking fountain, exit sign, or awesome old lights and are up for a treasure hunt, its a great place to wander through on a saturday afternoon.
