baby shower

Yesterday I had the honor of throwing a baby shower for my big sister, Valerie. I can't say I have tons of experience hosting much of anything, but have always liked the idea of it.I had so much fun planning everything for Val's shower & it was so great to see everything come together & have everyone here yesterday celebrating with Val. I cannot wait to meet my little niece in january!!! (and a big thanks to Ross who helped me clean the house from top to bottom before and after the big celebration & to my mom for all the things she did that helped me out!)

here's everything all set up the night before. I meant to take a picture once all the food was out before everyone arrived, but I got caught up in the moment & completely forgot till the party was halfway done. Which isn't a bad thing at all I decided. Better to live in the moment than always be trying to capture it.

and here's when I finally remembered to grab a picture...
the menu: coffee cake, monkey bread, mini quiches (thanks costco! decided I couldnt do everything homemade & still have enough energy to enjoy the party), fruit, yogurt, granola, mini blueberry muffins (mom's great recipe), and little sausages.

I filled our picture frame with all pictures of Val as a baby. And this very very precious shot of my mom & dad when my mom was pregnant for Val. I love this one.

a huge thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with Val!!!
