diy cake topper
this was a project that almost didn't make its way to completion, but I am so glad that I finished it at the last minute & love how it turned out. I used various scrapbook papers and glued them to a piece of thin twine. I had planned on using some type of wooden candy stick for the poles, but grabbed a few extra straws (like these found on etsy) and decided I liked that look even better. I just tied the twine around the straws, and I'll be honest, I meant to cut the extra twine off thats hanging down, but oops, oh well, only so many details you can actually keep track of when setting up for a reception, and I still think it looks pretty good. hope you agree!
of course, our photographer, {jenn anibal} took MUCH better pictures of the cake & dessert table than we got. You can see them here & here. also, thank you to my mom's dear friend, Dawn Fennema for making the beautiful & delicious red velvet cake for us!
