After a very busy few weeks of school, work, and just life in general, I was very ready to do something fun and different this weekend. Embarrassingly, Ross & I had yet to get to the indoor part of the Downtown Market before this weekend, so we decided that Saturday was the day we would finally go and check it out. And let me just say, well done Grand Rapids. What a beautiful space. It was refreshing to walk around and wander through the market on a cold winter day. It almost made me forget how gross & ugly its been outside lately. We were surrounded by delicious looking food and although many things were tempting, we knew we wanted to try the tacos from Tacos El Cunado. Despite a long line & our order getting lost (leading to a 20 minute wait...but then a free lunch!), we were incredibly impressed and the wait would have been worth it even without getting our money back (I think...). Because we ended up getting a free lunch, we also splurged on a huge delicious cookie from a bakery there. Next time, I'm getting the locally made ice cream, or a smoothie, or thai food...obviously the market is a good place to go if youre hungry. If not, there isn't much besides food, but if youre looking for something good to eat and a variety of different foods, the market is a great place to go!
Despite being soooooo sick of the snow, I guess it makes for nice pictures...
After finishing up at the Market, we headed over to Hall & Fuller to check out the new Hall Street Bakery. I was pretty excited when I heard that the owners of Wealthy Street Bakery were starting a new bakery over on Hall Street. My mom brought me to Wealthy Street Bakery years ago when there was next to nothing in the area and I wondered why in the world this cute little bakery was in a run down area with few other businesses around. It has been so cool to see the transformation of that area and the Wealthy street area is one I will always consider my neighborhood after living there for a few years. I am excited to see the impact that Hall Street Bakery could have on that area and am excited for all the neighbors of it that now get to enjoy such a great place. And did I mention the cinnamon rolls? Lets just say its a good thing they haven't moved out to Hudsonville at all or Ross & I would be in trouble..
also...Hall Street serves coffee & bakery goods AND beer & wine. What a great combination of amazing tasting things!

NIce - makes me hungry. I am excited to see the new Hall Street Bakery! You beat me to it.
