no plans & projects

after a very busy but absolutely wonderful summer full of time spent with family and friends and big plans almost every weekend, we were thrilled when we realized we had next to nothing on the calendar for this weekend. and so far, its been a wonderful & incredibly relaxing weekend.

We started off today at our usual favorite breakfast spot and after that I met up with my mom at the byron farmers market. She brought me a basket full of goodies from her garden & i found some delicious michigan raspberries and pumpkin cinnamon bread. We also went for a nice long walk on the kent trails and enjoyed the beautiful fall like weather. So great to spend some time with my mom.

meanwhile...ross was incredibly productive with lots of different little projects at home while I was gone. I need to leave that boy home alone more often. it was great to come home to all the surprises..

remember the chevron board we painted awhile back? now its a picture frame! ross cut some plex for me & attached it to the board with a screw.

and he spray painted this pie tin I have been holding onto for awhile from my favorite place in Julian, CA. I spent many hours reading & writing on their back patio enjoying amazing pie & its very fun to have this pie tin to remember that.

I am so excited that this project got completed today! This is an old frame ross got from a coworker and we strung wire across it. the plan is to add more pictures, but I love how ross decorate it with these vintage flashcards we picked up at the antique market this summer.

this past thursday we went to the funky junk flea market and picked up an old bowling pin for $1. Ross was on the high school bowling team so it seemed fitting. He didnt really plan on this crackle finish per se when he painted it today, but we kinda love how it turned out.

and this wasnt really a today project, but just had to show off the super cute owls we also got at the funky junk market on thursday!
