my fiance is so incredibly talented. I have always always wanted to have a desk that is more like a coffee shop feel than shoved in a corner or more of a formal desk. I have always wanted one that faces an open room and windows and was big enough to spread stuff out on. After looking at some antique stores and used furniture stores for an old farmhouse style table, we couldn't find anything quite up to par. So, Ross and my future father in law decided to take on the challenge of building me exactly what I imagined. Easier said that done (I am horrible at explaining specifics of things in my imagination), but they were up for the challenge and it turned out AMAZING! Cannot wait till I can settle into our house in just 2 months and can make this my spot to do homework, write, journal, and just make it my own.
Oh...and I helped with part of this project!! Ross & I roughed up the desk top to give it a more antique look. We hammered it, threw a bag of nails at it, and scraped it up a bit. Ross then stained it with jacobean to get a beautiful dark wood color. Ross then stained, primed, painted, and roughed up the legs to get an awesome antique wood finish. The results: an amazing table that I will be able to enjoy and love for years and years and years.

What color is this table?
ReplyDeleteIt was stained with provincial stain, then painted with valspar retro white, then a coat of valspar Woodlawn charm.
